Sonoma County resident Mark Whitney was arrested in March 2002 for a 660 plant caregiver garden. Whitney pleaded guilty in July 2003.  He was sentenced to 1 year prison, followed by 3 years supervised release; Whitney was out pending appeal as of 2004.
