Modesto patient and caregiver Thunder Rector was arrested along with two co-defendants on July 18, 2005, as a result of a raid by the Stanislaus County Sheriff earlier in July. The Sheriff allegedly confiscated 49 plants and 235 pounds of marijuana and handed it over to the federal authorities. Rector and his wife Rayleen Edson had been providing medical marijuana to patients at the San Francisco Dispensary the Divinity Tree.  Thunder Rector was sentenced to 24 months plus 60 months supervised release, in October 2007. He was released from prison July 10, 2009.
